This album has been a long time coming for Khalil, who was last seen hard at work with his production company PRC on songs for other artists including Ella Koon and Jane Zhang. But now he's back with his own brand new album which is named <Dangerous World> and will be released on the 11th of April. This time around, Khalil promises fans a whole new listening experience, and being familiar with Khalil's previous works, I know that he won't be breaking that promise anytime soon. The album is already available for preorder, and the catchy first single by the same name as the album is out now.
Having heard that Khalil was the director of the music video which spent three months in the making, it made my watching experience even more pleasurable. Welcome back Khalil!

-A special person
-Black White and Grey
Despite the connotations that their cutesy name might bring, these guys are pretty serious about what they do. Acapella group Butterpella is made up of a group of enthusiastic vocalists from the National University of Singapore, and have made quite a reputation for themselves, even being invited to perform on the Mainland Chinese program <Sing Off China> as guest stars! The group arranges their own songs, bringing in not just acapella harmonies, but also elements of vocal percussion and vocal instrumentation. Their performance of <我爸的笔>(My dad's pen) is is strikingly creative, smoothly integrating multiple rhythms with some well arranged beatboxing. Their refreshing sound and playful sense of humor makes them a group which is instantly likeable, setting them apart from the rest. Their innovative arrangement and wonderful harmonizing within this song makes for a completely different listening experience. Unlike other stock-standard Acapella groups who try to achieve too much and instead fail miserably, Butterpella's out-of-the-box concepts and their love for singing does much more than any complex arrangement ever could.
Although they may still have a few hits and misses now and again, this is one group which definitely has the potential to shine if they play their cards right!

To all chinese music listeners itching for some music that is new and totally different, never Fear, for William Wei is here! Much unlike his last two albums where he mostly took on a more optimistic and laidback attitude towards music, his latest album seems to be a 360 degree change in terms of where Wei wants to go with his music. He's already released his first single from the album called <狼>(Wolf), and although I must say the concept of werewolves has been done time and time again, but never as thoroughly as Wei's done this time around. The lyrics are dark and hard-hitting; something tells me that Wei's not only singing about wolves this time around. Genre wise, this is something Wei's never ventured into before either, with him showcasing a more hard rock/metal side to his music and his voice. Can't wait for the release of his album on the 25th of March!
Andrew Chen and Bii's duet <势在必行>(Imperative) has rendered them one of the best and most popular male pairings in the music industry ever since the debut of that single, and for fans of this pairing, you'll be excited to know that more of it is coming your way! The boss of Eagle music has decided to try something new and has built on the success of the Duo that is Andrew and Bii, while also adding on two new and talented singer-songwriters to form a new band called IV勢在必行2(To be imperative 2). But they are definitely not just any boyband. What kind of boyband is able to brag two handsome, talented and successful solo artists? This combination is refreshing and clearly different from anything I've ever seen before; and I'm really excited to see what kind of chemistry they are going to have.
Here's the second single by boyband <Imperative 2>, called <Grow>. Featuring two of the members, solo artist Bii and Dino. But the boys are getting their big guns out this time around.. Both the lyrics and melody for this song were written by Dino, proving that this group of guys aren't just any boyband. The same goes for the solo single that Bii performs called <Find the way>, with the melody and lyrics by Ian!
Their debut album as a group is set for release on the 28th of March, and their very first music video is to be released today!
Dawen's been really excited about something lately; and that something is that he's going to be able to tour North America with Wanting Qu later on this year! In celebration of being able to perform with such a great artist as well as touring North America, Dawen's done up a R n B cover of Wanting's <我的歌声里>(You Exist In My Song), a refreshing take on one of the most played songs around Taipei these days. Dawen puts his own spin on it, adding a little Jazz, a little hip hop and a little acapella to make a sound which is uniquely his, and no one elses'.I'm in love with it, hope you will be too!
