Instead of the typical biography style-stuff that everyone pushes out about these artists, I would just like to give my opinion within this series of posts on why these are some of my favourite artists on the music scene, in terms of their personality, their voice, and their musical ability. Hopefully it helps people to understand more about these artists, and how each and every one of them has their own niche that makes them unique in their own way. Some of these artists may be veterans in the business, and I’m doing this to remind fans and listeners alike of their unique abilities.

Here's a kind of follow-up to the song recommendation section on Genie Zhuo that illustrates the immense change that Genie Zhuo's music has gone through. Below is the video for her new single , <反派〉. The song uses almost violent synthesised beats to compliment Genie's stropng voice and her wide vocal range. The style of the song itself is more electronica than anything she's ever done before , but at the same time is much different from other dance hits in the dark overtone that the beats give it. It also infuses effortlessly a little hip-hop in it through the rap section , and in that shows an image which is a little bit similar to that of Elva Hsiao. But anyway , even to bystanders who only know a few of Genie's songs , this change in Genie Zhuo is extremely visible. Case in point , my sister walked past and was basically like , "woah , her voice got better." In fact , I and many other fans of Genie would have already known that her voice was this strong , but instead was , bluntly put , dumbed down by her previous works. So to all readers , there you go , hope you enjoy the song and video!

Although this category is usually for up-and-coming artists , I've decided to put Genie Zhuo under this category because I do think that she has a lot of potential which has not yet been shown through her music. I once saw her singing on a Taiwanese vasriety show , and was blown away by her vocals. They sounded nothing like the sweet but simplistic vocals which are shown on many of her albums. Her 2011 album , <Just the way I am> shows a totally different side to her personality , and the style of song choice is also breathtakingly risky . Unlike other artists who promise a totally different side to their style , only to revert more or less back into their comfort zone in terms of the song style or choice , Genie Zhuo's new album risks it all as she takes on a TOTALLY new and might i say , brave take on her newest album , with the help of her record company and producers such as Golden Melody award-winning Adia . So , well done to Genie for finally taking the step that I as a fan have been waiting so long for , and I hope other fans will also appreciate her new works as much as I do!
P.S She is also a fairly talented lyricist and songwriter , with participation in almost all of her albums to some extent. I also hope that in the future she could be more involved in her albums. Someday , maybe someday... :)
